Iron Gold

I finished Iron Gold this weekend. The book follows 10 years after the events of the original Red Rising Trilogy.

The original trilogy focussed primarily on Darrow of Lykos but this new trilogy introduces a few new characters and brings some old characters into the center light.

When I started this book I assumed it was just a continuation of book three but in reality the author is starting a new trilogy. I was a bit sad to see less of a focus on Darrow but it is interesting seeing the universe from more characters perspectives. I am a bit sad that one of the characters is really dumb though.

Overall I loved the book. The author is incredible and always makes such quotable books. I have so many highlights from this series. The first book opens with

I would have lived in peace. But my enemies brought me war.

If that isn't reason enough to read this series you are crazy.
